(no subject)

It has been pretty hot here. Maybe not the same heat as some people who are reading this letter...:) but when you walk for hours out in the heat with full pros clothes on, it can get quite uncomfortable. It's got up to 107. But despite the heat it has been a pretty amazing week.

So me and Elder Thompson my son are back together. It ROCKS. We just went straight to work there was no really awkward first stages of the companionship. We already know how we teach and so we know how to complement the other. It's great we are seeing miracles out here. Elder Thompson has also gotten a lot more experienced since we've been together. I still remember him straight out of the MTC. He's really good at helping to inspire the members to do missionary work.

Alexis is still ready to be baptized this coming Thursday. It's kinda weird we our last baptism was on Thursday too. I feel like we just met Alexis but she's already getting baptized and leaving to California. But she will be back soon. The ward here is doing great fellowshiping them which is really important especially because they didn't initially know anyone in the ward.

Had a sweet miracle the other day. It was 5:00pm and we were headed to our dinner which started at 5. We then got a call. It was our dinner saying they were going to need to postpone our dinner for 30 min. At first we were a little disappointed because we had an appointment at 6 that were going to have to run to. But then we chose to look at it as an opportunity. The Lord had provided for us 30 min to find someone. So we started to knock some doors. Everybody was really mean. Then we were like well hey there's this potential that lives over here that we can go see. We went over there and Elder Thompson raised his hand to knock on the door. But then we looked over across the street. And there was a lady just sitting on a rock pondering life. So we didn't knock the door but instead went and talked to the lady. She was just visiting from Portland. But she ended up accepting a Book of Mormon and promising us she would look up Mormon.org to find missionaries in Portland. It was a cool experience.

We also got a member referral from this guy in our ward he just kinda nonchalantly told us he had some friends that lived up on this hill with a sports car. Well we went to try and find it and we ended up finding it. But when we knocked on the door nobody answered. Over the next couple weeks we tried it about 4 times and they were never there. We were in the area and we went to try one more time. Right before we got out we wondered if we should just count it as contacted. We then decided to go for it anyway. And we talked to a lady who's name happens to be Jill Hill funny enough. And she accepted the Book of Mormon and a return appointment.

As usual there is always so much more I could tell you and want to tell you but there simply isn't time. However the work here is exploding. We taught a guy this morning named Aaron and it was great. We tried something new that we had never done before. We started the lesson with a prayer. We then asked him what he wanted us to pray for. He told us to pray for his family. So we did. He sincerely thanked us. We then got the chance to talk about how important families are and we gave him scriptures to read and a proclamation to the family. He loved it.

I love being a missionary. Alright I love you all thank you for your letters of support and encouragement!

Love Elder Johnson
