So this week we had a lesson with Raejean. I don't know if I ever told you about her. She's just this lady that wants to get baptized but has a problem with smoking and she also has a lot of health problems. We met with her and set a baptismal date for the 23rd of April. We are very hopeful for that. She seemed pretty excited about that date.
We also met with James 3 times this week. We taught him about the commandments and he is continuing to be the golden investigator. I can't wait for his baptism next week.
Ok so Ted Park is getting baptized this week!! Originally the Elders in Monmouth told us that his baptismal date is on the 9th which is Saturday, but we had a lesson with him and he said that it was for the 6th which is Wednesday. So we were freaking out trying to get a hold of the Bishop to ok the baptism. But everything seems to be in order. So this will be my first baptism! I'm not going to be the one who actually baptizes him, but I'm super excited. I just hope that he will continue to stay active and get fellowshipped by the ward. That is the most important step right now. Getting him fellowshipped. This is pretty crazy!
We also taught Jeremy again this week. He seems to be progressing but we just have to wait for his court stuff to get all figured out before he can get baptized.
So there was this one lady named Jennifer Dotson in the area book who was a former investigator. We stopped by her place to see how she was doing and she decided to take the lessons again. So we set up a time to teach her and we taught her and it went well. We will probably be setting a baptismal date next time we see her. Man all the sudden we have all these people who have a baptismal date. It's awesome! We hope to move forward with Jen. Our next appointment is on Tuesday.
Ok now it's time for the most amazing miracle of the week! So on Friday night we were getting hungry and so we looked to our planners only to find that nobody had signed up to feed us that night. Dang! So we had to go get a pizza at a local pizza place called Ugo's. The cashier that worked there got to talking with us. Turns out she is a member but hasn't gone to church for a while. Her name is Becky. We got her number and address so we could go see her in the next couple of days. She said that we could try tomorrow. So we stopped by her house the next day (in between conference sessions). We knocked on the door and some unknown girl answered the door and proceeded to say "no" and shut the door. We quickly asked if Becky was there, she said "no, she's baby sitting," and shut the door. Now this is where it gets crazy. In our plans for the day we had scheduled next to go to a potential investigator who we had contacted a few weeks ago. Her name was Daisy. So we went to Daisy's house and knocked on the door and to our utter astonishment..........Becky answered the door!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Apparently she had been baby-sitting at Daisy's house! It was incredible. So we talked to Becky for a while and invited her to conference, but she was working :( But then she told us to go back to her house where we had been 15 minutes prior. She wanted us to talk to her sister, Amber. We were in awe at this point. So we went back to her house and asked for Amber. So Amber came out and we talked with her for a while. She was a member too, but had stopped coming because of some anti-mormonism she had heard. We cleared it up for her and gave her a Book of Mormon to read. She said she would read it. Man this is awesome! This was inspired by the Lord. It is not just a coincidence. This kinda stuff happens too much for it just to be a coincidence.
But yeah that is how my week has been. Very very busy. We are trying our best to stay on top of all the work we have to do. It is going really really well. Thank you for all you do. You're the best!! I love you all.
Love,
