What a week

Hey everybody! I can't beleive the school year is almost out. I bet you guys are pretty excited about getting done with school. Especially those of you who are graduating. :) Those of you who aren't in school I bet you are excited for the great weather. The weather here has been spectacular! It got up to 80 degrees which is quite uncommon in Newport. That was a glorious day.

As far as missionary work we've also had a good week. We taught Marie about three times. We watched the Restoration movie with her and she told us this incredible story. She has been coming to church for the past two weeks. She told us that the first time she came to church she loved it. She told us that right after church ended she no longer had the desire to smoke. She hasn't smoked in two weeks since that day. We were freaking out. It was awesome. Her husband, Jack, may get this job in a town called Florence. If he does then they will probably move down there which would be a bummer but there are missionaries there too so they would get the opportunity to see her baptized. She told us she didn't really want to move because she just got settled in and she just found a church. Yep it's just a matter of time for Marie. She also has 3 kids that are baptism age as well. One of them has been coming to church with her mom. Marie actually didn't come to church yesterday which was a huge set back. I didn't see that coming, but we will talk to her today and see whats up.

So every thursday we have been going to Waldport which is 20 miles south of Newport and stay with this guy named Brother Cooper. He is a great guy. We talked to him last Monday and he told us that he had an appointment set up for us on Thursday and he told us to bring our guitars. Yeah so Brother Cooper had given us a referal and set up an appointment for dinner with this family. It is an extremely rare treat. When thursday rolled around we went and played guitar for this guy Buck and his wife Vikki and their daughter Crystal. We also had dinner and taught a lesson. It went amazingly. They agreed to come to church and to read and pray about the Book of Mormon. They followed through with all of those commitments. It was pretty cool. We have another appointment this thursday. I'm excited.

So the work is going great here in Newport. Love you guys. Have a great week and enjoy the sun!
