Once upon a time

Once upon a time there was a kid named Tomas. He grew up in a loving family but somehow lost his way. He got caught up in drugs and all kinds of bad things. Well he had a brother named Enrique who always seemed happy. He craved this happiness and tried to chase it by finding ways to satisfy his pleasures. He eventually found out that this does not provide lasting happiness but leads to fleeting moments that make you think you are happy. Enrique would always invite Tomas to church activities but he thought that was silly. Then one day he lost everything...he turned to Enrique and he reached out again. He invited him to dinner at a sushi restaurant. It just so happened that he invited us to that sushi restaurant as well. We met Tomas and talked about how the Gospel can change lives and how it had changed us. Tomas accepted everything and accepted the invitation to be taught by us. Last Tuesday we set a date with him to be baptized on May 6th...which is this Sunday. Although he has been through so much in his life, he is so ready and willing to accept Christ into his life.

Once upon a time me and Elder Peterson were doing our weekly planning session. We were about to begin and we received a text from a random number that said, "Hello, I'm hoping this is still the missionaries. My name is Alex and I want to meet with you guys."
We said, "Yes this is still the missionaries. We would love to meet sometime. How did you come in contact with the missionaries?"
She responded, "well it's a long story. But I met with the sister missionaries a few months back and I found this number in my wallet and I want to continue meeting and get baptized."
That was really cool! We set up a meeting with her for today at 6:30 I can't wait.

Once upon a time there was a girl named Melisa. She was raised in a lds home and grew up going to church. She had a LOT of troubles and trials growing up and her parents got divorced when she was young. When she was 8 she was going to get baptized but then her mother found out and she said no. Well her father would always go to church every Sunday and get there 30 minutes early and Melisa was always bored. So when she was a little girl she would always go into an empty classroom and pray to God. Then many years passed and she turned away from the church and found solace in other churches and feeling Jesus Christ shape and change her because of her trials. One day she met some missionaries and they taught and baptized her friend Amy. She began to ponder and wonder about the things she learned as a child. She wanted to go to church again but she couldn't because her work schedule would not allow her to. She tried to ask for Sundays off many times but always was denied. Then one day the missionaries came over and we read to her D&C 59:9-10 where it says coming to church is a commandment. We then read 1 Nephi 3:7 which says God provides a way to keep the commandments. We then invited her to pray for the Lord to provide a way for her to come to church......3 days later we received a phone call from Melisa. She had walked into work one day randomly to pick up her check. While she was there another employee was trying to switch her schedule around and asked if she could work Sundays instead of Saturdays...Melisa offered to switch. The Lord will always provide a way for his children to keep his commandments if they diligently seek him. Melisa is set to be baptized on May 13th if everything goes as planned.

Ok well I hope that gives you a little taste of how stupendous our week was. I love missionary work it is amazing! I love you all and thank you for your prayers
