(Labor Day)
I don't have very much time to write today. This has been a great week. We talked to a lot of anti Mormons. One day it seemed like that's all we talked to. But I don't care what they say! They can bash about Mormons all day long bringing all kinds of educational and historical evidences but they will still be wrong. I know because I have received an answer from God and not from the historical and educational evidence. The answer from the Holy Ghost holds more validity to me than anything I can see or hear.
Joe and April got married!!! It's amazing! When we first started teaching them, we thought, "man this is gonna be a long road. They are smoking and they aren't married." But again the Lord has shown me that nothing is impossible. He has allowed an amazing change to take place with them in such a short amount of time. This was the first marriage I have ever been to. I have been to receptions but never a wedding. It was done by the Bishop. It was really small and simple but it was elegant. There were about 30 people there. The ward pretty much arranged the whole thing. They were very grateful. They will be getting baptized this saturday. We are so excited.
The other big news this week. We got a call from our Bishop and he told us he had a referral for us. He had gotten a call from a lady who said that her mom and dad would be interested in learning about the church. We went over and they let us in. They are an older couple named Frank and Beth. Frank has dementia but he is still pretty smart and funny. Beth is sharp and is really interested. We went over and they had some problems that they needed some help with. Their kitchen sink won't drain. So we went over again the next day dressed in our "normal" clothes. In their vent on the roof we found a wasps nest. So we sprayed that and tried to put a snake down through the vent. But it didn't work. Anyways we will try to help them get it fixed this week. We also taught them a lesson about the restoration and invited them to be baptized if they found out it's true. They said yes. :)
Then we found another lady tracting who we just saw again this morning. Her name is Trisha. The first time we went over she jsut talked the whole time and we couldn't really teach her anything. The next time we met with her we tried something I've never done before. We invited her to not tell any stories while we teach. We were really scared that she would get offended. But it turned out great we just taught her the restoration and by the end she said, "i feel a tingling in my back. It's a good thing though." We identified that as the spirit. She accepted a Book of Mormon and said she would read it. We are seeing her again this week. Can't wait.
